The Brackitz Structures, Wheels & Gears Set combines the Structures Classroom Set with the Brackitz Wheels & Axles and Gears, Sprockets & Chains Modules. This set empowers students to add the wonder of motion to their structures. From skyscrapers to submarines, dinosaurs to storybook characters using the kit’s multi-use planks, rotating pieces, and connecting hubs. Once they’ve created their simple moving machines, students can explore authentic STEM concepts as they measure distance and speed or experiment with the impacts of variable incline or decline degrees. Gears and chains (like the ones in bicycles) are simple machines. When students learn to design and build with gears they gain a hands-on understanding of the principles of motion. It’s a great way to integrate the skills and concepts of math, science, engineering and design thinking.  Kids can design, invent and build an endless variety of structures, from skyscrapers to submarines, dinosaurs to storybook characters using the kit’s multi-use planks, rotating pieces, and connecting hubs.  Free PreK-6 lessons are available for Structures, Wheels, & Gears Set. Each activity is focused on solving real-world challenges using creativity and a problem-based learning approach. A sturdy but lightweight bin keeps the pieces organized.
